MEANING OF THE GREAT PYRAMID

Has the answer to the puzzle of the ages been found? That mystery is: To what purpose was the Great Pyramid built?

Conventional Egyptology consigns the Great Pyramid’s construction date to circa 2500BC and asserts it was built to entomb the Pharaoh Cheops or Khafre. But the fact is that no Pharaoh was ever buried either in the Great Pyramid or its two stone-built companions on the plain of Giza. These pyramids contain no paintings or hieroglyphics, the name of no pharaoh is carved in their stones, nor are their builders commemorated by name.

No burial treasure or human remains have been found in them – even in the Great Pyramid’s so-called ‘Queen’s Chamber’ rediscovered only in the 19th century and unopened hitherto. Granted there is a huge coffer or sarcophagus with 6-inch thick walls cut from solid granite in the Great Pyramid’s chamber but it is, as it has always been, empty.

What’s more modern science and technology cannot explain how so suddenly, without any preceding human evolution of such art, the architectural and engineering technology to build this colossal monument covering 13 acres and constructed of 2.5 million blocks of stone weighing from two to 70 tons, burst fully developed and accomplished upon the post Flood scene.

Sited exactly at the centre of the earth, the centre of Egypt and on its border with Eretz Israel the Great Pyramid portrays the heavens at the time of its construction and depicts the four corners of the earth. It sits four square exactly pointing to north, south, east and west. You could set your compass by it.

According to Dr Joseph Seiss, author of The Gospel In The Stars:

It has been ascertained and clearly demonstrated that there is in the measures, pointings, form and features of that great primeval monument … a massive and indestructible stone memorial of a complete and faultless knowledge of the structure of the universe, of the exact and physical sciences both terrestrial and cosmical, a determination of a perfect system of weights and measures scientifically conformed to what the Opifex Mundi (Creator of the world) fixed in things when He fetched a compass round the world and ‘weighed the hills in the balances’. Scientific investigation by different men competent to the task shows that there is built into that edifice a record of the heavens at the time of its erection which gives its age by astronomy in full accord with all external indications of evidences; also a record of the size, form and weight of the earth and its relation to and distance from the sun, the true length of the solar year, the number of years in the precessional cycle, the average temperature of the inhabitable world, together with the multitudinous cosmical facts and mathematical formulas and proportions no better told by sciences now existing among men.

Example A:

The vertical height of the Great Pyramid multiplied by 10 to the 9th power (109) tells the mean distance of the sun from the earth, that is one thousand million times the pyramid's height, or 91,840,000 miles

Example B:

The evidences are clear that a cubit of 25.025 of our inches, or one within a very slight fraction of that length, and an inch which is the five hundred millionth part of the earth's polar diameter, were in the minds of the architects, and meant by them to be most significantly emphasized. It is a noble and fitting thought that as the existence of an axis of rotation in the earth makes the days, the grand standard of length founded on that axis should count them. And so it is in the Great Pyramid. This nature-derived cubit is contained in each side of this edifice just as many times as there are days in a year! This simple fact is of itself an in invincible demonstration that these builders had such a length in mind as their greatest and most sacred standard and enumerator of linear measure. But it is also specially singled out and recorded elsewhere in the edifice. It is the top width of the grand niche in the Queen's Chamber, and the distance between the highest inner edge of that niche and the vertical centre of the chamber. It is thus set before the eye as if to teach all to note its existence and to search for its hidden use and meaning in the symbolizations.

Example C:

And as these great old architects measured the earth, so they also weighed it. As nearly as can be computed, their pyramid is the even one thousand billionth part of the weight of this whole earth-ball of land and sea. The gravity of the entire mass of what they built needs only to be multiplied by 105×3 to indicate the sum of the gravity of the entire mass of the globe we inhabit. There has been much effort expended by modern science to find out the mean density or specific gravity of the earth, without exactly settling the problem. The best experiments make it between 5.316 and 6.565 times the weight of water at the medium temperature of 68° Fahrenheit. The Great Pyramid makes it 5.70, which is almost exactly the mean of the best five experiments ever made.

The Great Pyramid measurements:

Length of each side at the base averaging 755.75 feet (230 metres) and its original height being 481.4 feet (147 metres). original height 481.3948ft, base perimeter 3023.16ft ratio = 2pi (2x3.14) angle of 52 degrees for sides. Consider also Mexico’s Temple of the Sun at Teotihuacan, the world’s second largest ancient temple, height (233.5ft, base perimeter 2932.76ft = ratio of 4pi. Both built more than a thousand years before ‘official’ discovery of pi by the Greeks.

Angle of Corners
 Northwest:   89° 59’58”
 Northeast:   90° 3’02”
 Southeast:   89° 56’02”
 Southwest:   90° 3’02”

Slope of North Face: 51° 50’40”
Area of the Base: 13 acres
Number of Blocks: more than 2.5 million
Weight of Blocks: 2-70 tons each
Size of original limestone casing stones: Some weigh 15 tons each.

Latitude of the Apex: 29° 58’51” North
Longitude of the Apex: 31° 8’2” East

Fact:  more than a 100 smaller stone  pyramids, seemingly derived or copied from the three great originals in Egypt were built with the same massive stone engineering elsewhere in the Middle East, in Africa, in Asia (Thailand, Laos and Cambodia, for example), in South America, Australia and elsewhere. All were built as inferior copies of the three great pyramids of Giza. Later Egyptian pyramids are but poor attempts. Many built of mud bricks, as in the time of the Israelite enslavement in Egypt, have largely collapsed since erection but the three Giza pyramids remain to this day.

The Sphinx measurements: Over 240ft long, 66 feet high and with a head 13ft 8 inches wide.

The Great Pyramid has been called ‘The Bible set in stone”. The following scriptures support this view and indicate the Lord as its architect:

Isaiah 19:19-20:

In that day there shall be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt and a pillar at the border thereof to the Lord. And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the Lord of Hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the Lord because of the oppressors and He shall send them a Saviour and a great one and shall He shall deliver them.

‘Pillar’ here is not the normal word for pillar, meaning a column. It is matstsebeth in Hebrew, meaning something set and stationary, a monument in stone. Note the last syllable beth, which means a house of knowledge and witness in this case. Note this monument is to be a sign.

Gematria is the science of finding meaning in the numerical value of Hebrew and Greek letters, words and sentences in the Bible as notably recovered by Ivan Panin to show the supernatural inspiration of the King James Bible (it doesn’t work in the others). The ancient Hebrews had no numerals and thus designated the letters of the alphabet with numerical values. Now adding up the sum of all letters in Isaiah 19:19-20 gives a sum of 5449 – the exact height in inches of the Great Pyramid.

Jer. 32:19-20:

… the great, the Mighty God, the Lord of Hosts … which has set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, and in Israel, and among other men. And hast made thee a name as at this day, even unto this day. And hast brought they people out of the land of Egypt with signs and wonders.

Is. 19:19-20 says ‘that in the day (the Day of Christ?) there will be an altar to the Lord in the midst of Egypt and a pillar at the border to the Lord. And it shall be a sign and a witness to the Lord of Hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry to the Lord because of the oppressors and He will send them a Saviour and a Great One and he shall deliver them’.

2 Peter 3:3-4: Knowing this first that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts. And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.

For this they are willingly ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water perished.

Gen. 7:11: In the 600th year of Noah’s life, in the second month, in the 17th day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the deep broken up and the windows of heaven were opened. And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

Gen 1:2:  And the earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Dating the Great Pyramid

All the experts try to date the pyramid but none succeed in finding a date which can mesh with the Bible’s timetable for Noah’s flood, which by calculating the ages of the patriarchs is held to be1656 years after Adam’s creation or 2348BC.

Conventional Egyptology dates the Great Pyramid’s construction to 2500BC and says its builder was Cheops or Khofre. Other estimates range from 2170BC to 4500BC. Egyptology also claims evidence of civilisation in Egypt stretches back as far as 10,000BC – an impossibility if the Bible date for creation of 4004BC is believed.

Enoch was born in 622AM (anno mundi – year of the world) and God ‘took him’ in 987AM. If he built the Great Pyramid and its Giza Plain companions as a ‘pillar’ to the Lord then he would likely have done that in the last century of his life, 887Am or about 3117BC.

Interestingly, bible believing scholar Dr David Livingston suggest 3000BC for the pyramid’s building, based on literary and archaeological evidence. But all other methods of dating the construction employed by mystics, so-called scientists, Egyptologists and others are flawed. Here’s why:

  1. Radiocarbon dating

C14 carbon dating inventor Willard Libby says C14 dating calibrated by using known dates of Egyptian artefacts proved accurate only back to 2000BC. Results earlier than that went ‘haywire’.Dr. Livingston asserts that dates much earlier than 4000BP (Before Present) cannot be calibrated because there is no known historical material older than 5000BP. Even then and despite modern improvements C14 is unreliable. Tests of snails living in a South American artesian well, whose shells contain little radioactive carbon, concluded they had been dead for 27,000 years. Dendrochronological (tree ring) tests of wood show C14 tests as 500 years too low at 3900BP.

  1. Star calculations based on the angle at which pyramid tunnels point to stellar constellations say the pyramid was built either in 2170Bc or 3,350BC when the angle would have intercepted the star Sirius. Both are incorrect because the cosmic upheavals of the recreation of the earth in Gen. 1:2 and that of Noah’s Flood are ignored. Can it be assumed earth’s inclination to the starry heavens has always been the same when God says He has more than once turned the earth ‘upside down’  (Is. 24:1, 17-21). There is evidence aplenty earth’s polarity has been reversed and changed on several occasions. Spitzbergen, now an icy waste was once tropical; Antarctica was once temperate and habitable and evidence of that is the Piri Reis map of the 1500s. So count star dating out.
  2. The best literary sources are the Bible and flood Epic of Gilgamesh but only Genesis sets a precise date for the deluge. Science and academia relentlessly ignore these reliable historical documents. Interestingly there is no known Egyptian flood tradition in literature.
  3. There is no way of accurately dating stone or of knowing when it was used in construction.

However, there is one way of dating the aftermath of the flood, if you accept the Bible truth that rain did not fall on earth from the time of creation through to the Flood. It is that only Noah’s Flood made it possible for rivers worldwide to begin flowing at around the same time. Dr Livingston asserts that when waters on the landmass finally subsided into the deepened oceans and rain began to fall, only then could rivers begin to flow and deposit the sediment which now form their deltas.  That appears to have begun between 3000BC and 2500BC.

It may well have been hundreds of years after the Flood that the Nile reached Egypt and finally created a delta out of the soggy marshland that comprised the land of Egypt for many years. Dry land was slow to appear there. At the founding of Egypt’s first dynasty no land north of Lake Moeris was above water and the delta was sea, meaning the shore was 150 miles inland (near Cairo) compared to its present position.

One reason scientists argue for a 7000-10,000-year date for the pyramid’s construction is the erosion seen on the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx, carved from the bedrock of the plain. Ignoring Noah’s Flood they claim such erosion was caused by rain and assert no rain fell in Egypt between 7000BC and 3000BC.

But again the Flood is the key. When the ‘fountains of the deep’ were broken up the water gushing up from the rocks below would be rich in chemicals. It is the likely source of the salt in the sea. And sodium chloride especially in high concentration rapidly erodes limestone. The marks of such erosion are clearly seen two thirds up the Great Pyramid and flood water has made devastating inroads into the bedrock limestone layers of the Sphinx.

So who built the Great Pyramid and what does it mean?

Probably Enoch at the direction of the Lord. Adam was endued with innate science which was passed down to Seth, preserved in the pyramid by Enoch and rekindled on this side of the flood, thus explaining how Egypt sprang forth  suddenly in the space of 100 years as fully-fledged technologically advanced and scientifically erudite civilisation.

As to its purpose it is according to Is. 19:19 a witness to ’that day’, which is to come when the earth will be restored to its former pre-Flood beauty and harmony and the hearts of men everywhere will be turned back to the Lord.

That day, of course, is the Day of Christ (Phil. 1:6, 10, 2:16, 2 Tim. 4:1, Titus 2:11-13) when the Lord will rule from heaven over earth and through Elijah (Matt. 17:10 and Mark 9:11), and other resurrected helpers, will bring about ‘the restitution of all things’ (Acts 3:20-21).

Before the scriptures were written (Moses had yet to be born in Egypt, remember) the pyramid was, and still is, a picture of Christ as creator and redeemer of both men and the earth. It represents the New Jerusalem which will descend from heaven in the ‘day of God’ when the new heavens and new earth are created. (No, that is not the new creation and the new man of the Pauline prison epistles).

However, the Great Pyramid does describe the ‘foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ being the chief cornerstone, in whom all the building fitly framed growth into a holy temple to the Lord…’ (Eph. 2:20-22). (Interestingly, the pyramid’s cornerstone are secured by huge ball and socket joints.)

Jesus Christ is the both the ‘chief corner stone’ and the ‘head of the corner’ that Israel refused. (Ps. 118:22). He became a ‘stone of stumbling and a rock of offence’ to them (1 Peter 2:7-8). The pyramid in its measurements speaks of the restoration of the earth and the redemption of all mankind in the Day of Christ. It will culminate in the personal return of Christ to the earth to be as it were the ‘capstone’ for the pyramid, for it has none now. That is the completion of the earthly redemption story as originally fore-told by the stars in the zodiac.

Zech: 4:7: Who art thou great mountain? Before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying Grace, grace unto it.  See also Dan. 2: 35, 45.

Thus we see a link to our own grace dispensation. Though hid from the prophets at the time of their writing the above verse clearly shows that it will be with GRACE that Lord becomes the pyramid’s capstone just as He becomes the headstone and king of his kingdom that will fill the earth and never pass away.

The end
